Upstream O2 sensor AP1 facelift
 
Hi......my car is a MY2006 facelift AP1 grey import from Cyprus...….registered in the UK in 2007 and owned from new.
EML illuminated.
OBD2 showing code PO135 = heater in bank 1 oxygen sensor 1
I've tried two different replacement pre catalyser O2 sensors and, whilst the code can initially be erased, the EML stays off for about one minute then illuminates again.
My concern is that I'm not using the correct spec of replacement sensor.
The failed sensor is a Denso 211200-2600 but I can't find one for sale anywhere.
Does anyone know, please, of an alternative sensor which will reliably perform the required duties?

Not sure about that part number you mentioned, new one from Honda is 36531-PZX-013
But you should be able to get the same sensor without Honda bag for much less if you look for a DENSO 2349065.

Very many thanks for the information.
On the Rockauto website it says that part 36531-PZX-013 is for the AP2. Does this mean, please, that the AP2 and the 06-09 European AP1 used the same upstream O2 sensor?
I ask because the second new O2 sensor I tried was a Blueprint ADH27035C which is described by vendors as being a replacement for 36531-PZX-013, and it didn't cure the problem.
So the possibilities seem to be that
- even though the part is described as replacing 36531-PZX-013 the S2000 doesn't like the Blueprint sensor
- part number 36531-PZX-013 is not appropriate for my car or
- the problem is being caused by something other than a faulty oxygen sensor
As ever, any help would be greatly appreciated.

AP1 dbw (drive by wire) and AP2 dbw use the same part number O2 sensor.
You can check the part numbers yourself on this UK site bellow, there is a small trick to show the correct Honda number though which is to remove _pfk from the link.

I think there is some possibility that the Blueprint sensor you got is just not compatible.
So maybe start with new sensor and lets hope you don't have any other problem.

OK.......I've now tried three different pre catalyser O2 sensors in my car, and the code PO135 still persists.
I thought that it was not possible to erase codes without having cured the problem.......but it's possible to cancel this code, only to have to EML come back on within one minute of the engine running.
The sensors I've tried, in order, are
- Denso 234-4124 from RockAuto
- Blueprint ADH27035C from my local motor factors
- Denso 234-9065 from RockAuto
Does anyone have any ideas, please, on what might be the cause of the fault?

Well it seems unlikely it's a sensor fault then.
So either a problem with the ecu or the wiring along the way.
The heater circuit inside the sensor is pretty simple, just a resistor that gets battery voltage and then heats up.
If you got som basic electrical skills you could do some troubleshooting yourself on this.

If you want more response you should try get the mods to move this thread to S2000 Under The Hood since this section is not really correct.

Would be most grateful if the mods could move this thread as mentioned.
In the meantime I've taken the connector which I cut off the incumbent sensor to facilitate removal, and attached some extension wires to it so that I could use a multimeter whilst sitting in the car.
The multimeter showed 0 volts with the ignition on and 0 volts with the engine running.
I'm assuming that this means that electricity has not been getting to the heater in the sensor.
Is there a relay which switches the supply to the heater?

It looks like it's directly driven by the ecu, make sure your engine is cold as it's probably duty controlled when engine is warmed up.
I don't have any wiring schematics on the 2006+ model so can't tell which wire is which on the O2 sensor side but you could at least check the ecu side on the A10 pin.
