*Wanted* Seasoned Greddy Owners Opinions

Well, I have finally been driving my car after installing my new Greddy kit.

First, I am SUPER happy with normal driving. It feels perfect, 6th gear on the highway is amazing. However, when I go full throttle it seems like it is missing something. The linearity between part throttle and full throttle is not there. When I go full throttle in first and second it feels good then in third or higher something feels wrong.

My first thought is that I have a boost leak but I cant figure out how to test for leaks.

Or that the WOT programing is so conservative that it kills the potential. Now I know that the factory programing is poor but if that is the case why is part throttle so good? I have been watching my wide band and under load I am running 10.2:1 and my boost stays steady at 8.05psi.

Any input would be much appreciated.

Have you had the car tuned, or are you just on the basemap, if you are on the basemap it is not even recommended to be full throttle on it until you get a tune, that map is just a basis to get you to a tuner and the tuner to have somewere to start!
Thanks Jordan

10.20s sounds like the basemap to me. retune for mid 11's and you'll see more power for sure. i picked up about 30whp from the basemap when i had a greddy kit.

how do you feel about the notorious vtec dip? i'm sure you feel it, right?

Incase anyone is interested. This is how I did it on my DSM, and is the same for other boosted cars. Taken from my other favorite site.

Your car is EXACTLY like mine. Welcome to the Greddy Base maap. LOL

Get it tuned.

Yes, 10.XX is definitely the basemap. My car is tuned for 12.0AFR, and runs great...better than stock IMHO.

Go to a GOOD tuner for the emanage ultimate, and you'll REALLY love the car after that....(If you need to drive 400 miles to a tuner, do it, it's that important.)

It would also be helpful to list your other mods if any. Cause the base map with the stock exhaust is like 250-260. You need to re-tune and go with a large dual or single that should put you close to 280-300.

My basemap would run great one hour, and shitty the next. I drove from North Jersey to Virginia to get it tuned................well worth it

No one has to convince me of the tune. The 500 mile dive is nothing I drove a C6 950miles to have it tuned at LG after I installed some goodies on it and at least 120 miles was in the snow. I have gone to from KC to Tulsa with a 90 Lingenfelter build to have it done right. So I understand better than most how important it is to have it done right.

I have some hiccups to work out before I go and some miles to put on to proof the reliability then I will make the 500 trek to have this done right. I need to permanently mount my catch can, mount my gauges, hook my wide band into the Emanage, check all the bolts on the turbo and exhaust, and do some data logging.

Oh, I definitely don't want to replace the exhaust. I want the car as quiet as I can get it, in fact I dynamated the interior when I did the install. For me if I wanted more than the Greddy could give I would have gone inline pro and much bigger with a motor. I was looking for a small turbo for great everyday drivability and I am happy with the results so far. This is my girls car also so much bigger and I have a feeling I would be doing alot of body work.

Blkwidow, thanks for the link, I was planning the same with a set of pvc pipe cleanouts but I was hoping someone had something easier.

Just buy the tester from boostpro.net. I have one with the gauge on it. Works flawlessly. It was also pretty cheap.
