2mm vs 3mm headgasket
just wondering I hear that the most boost you an run on 93 octane with the 3mm head gasket is about 18lbs (correct?)
what the most boost you can run with the 2mm head gasket? power difference? just trying to figure out what would be more siutable for a *healthy* street car. thanks alot |
I am probably going to be going with the 2mm to keep from messing with the cam gears. I would say that you could probably run around 15 to 16 psi with some timing pulled at the top end.

who sells the 2mm gasket?
|
yeah where do we get it
|
i heard someone was going to use the cometic one i think it was
|
The 2mm Cometic is the head gasket I'm going with and I think it's only $100.

I talked to Cometic and they offer a .074" (1.8796mm) and .120" (3.048mm). Cost was approx $106 and $132 respectively (plus s&h I assume). Does anybody have the mathematical knowledge to calculate the what those compression ratios would be? Thanks!!

I think the .074" would yield around 10:1 compression ratio but not positive.

That's what I'm going with then. ;)
