Default Advice for clutch

I'm having trouble deciding which clutch do get. For sure something under $800 and will hold 560whp/400TQ. So far i have narrow it down to three kits:
1. Clutch Master FX400 stage 4 six puck sprung
2. Competition Clutch stage 4 six puck sprung
3. ACT HD six puck sprung
Any feedback or advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

I have the CC stage 4. Im not sure what the max torque is that it will hold. Shifting is smooth as stock once you get used to it. But, take off is a bit rougher than normal. Price is also much cheaper than $800... Contact Jonathan at THMotorsports

Thanks i will look in to that. Rough take off, chatter, or heavy pedal feel doesn't bother me. I can get use to it. As long as it will hold the power and last long

I would never recomeand a 6 puck singe play because it makes the car much harder to drive daily. Driving in traffic would suck really bad. I use to have a 6 puck and i would not get another 6 puck for a street car.

The only clutch i would recomend is an act hdss and if that wont hold the power you need to steep up to a twin disc.

yes i agree that a six puck is difficult to drive and i too would not recommend it to someone that has no experience with it, but iv'e been using a six puck for many years now and have gotten use to it so it does't bother me. A twin disc is too pricey for me at this moment. So which clutch out of the three listed do you think will hold the power?

You will be fine with the six puck from comp. Just not everyone would want it for a daily.

FX400 is perfect. My brother is making well over 600+hp on his evo with the fx400. That is what I'm planning on getting when I get my turbo kit in the mail.

I think people forget that there's more to a clutch than just the driveability factors.

I chose not to go with a 6 puck based on drive line shock. They aren't smooth at all, and with all these people grenading stock stuff, the last thing I'd want is to add more to it. This isn't a FWD civic.

Everyone wants to cheap out on the clutch because "twins are too much money". You state your budget for clutch alone is $800? Then why can't you afford a twin? Go ahead, save the couple hundred now, 2 months later you'll be back here buying another clutch, diff and trans.

Do it right, or don't do it at all.

yes you are right for someone who maybe drag racing at the strip, do lots of launch on the streets or can't drive a six puck. But i have no problem DD on six puck and since i no the limits on this stock tranny i mostly do 3rd and up gear pulls. Plus im on boost by gear so 1st and 2nd gears is on low boost. So far the price range on these clutch are around $550 and under. A $2000+ twin disc is a little over kill for what i need but it would be nice :-) Thanks for you input!
