S2000 Forced Induction S2000 Turbocharging and S2000 supercharging, for that extra kick.

AEM EMS, series 2 worth the extra cash?

yea, the only thing I need is a boost related fuel cut-off and boost by MPH

As well as a tune that I can use when I am spraying Methanol
you should be able to do that with the software somehow through one of the outputs

They do sell DB-9 to USB adapters for less than 10 dollars...
you lose speed with the adapter. Like I said, i wanted convenience. Driving to pick up an adapter from Frys electronics (best buy doesn't have it) is a good 2 hr drive, regardless of traffic (roundtrip of course). But in the end, to each his own.

Its a negligible drop in speed. Not anything thats gonna affect tuning or you'll even notice. I don't see how a little 1 foot extension(thats pretty muh what the adapter is) in your usb cable is that big of an inconvenience, but to each his own.

I got my adapter for 12 dollars shipped to my house with free 3 day shipping from newegg. I received my adapter faster than I received my EMS 1 when I bought mine so the EMS was the inconvenience.

A secondhand 1052 (or 1012 for that matter) and a USB-Serial adaptor is a fine solution.

But what you get with a series 2 is a warranty, a working coolant gauge and none of the issues many have had with USB-Serial adaptors, their drivers and various incarnations of Windows. You also get a series of updates and features as AEM continue to update the software.

And to take it a bit further, buying secondhand is always a risk. What do you do if it doesn't work? What do you do if it fails after a short period of time.

yeah, It will all be timing. The EMS is the last thing I am going to buy if it it has a lot of the functions that EVANS was talking about (in the upcoming months) then I will get it, however if it is still waiting on updates and it would require a retune for me later on, I will just get the 1052

so the series 1 won't let the coolant temp gauge work?

Also on AEM website I saw a 1052.1 and 1052.2, for ap1, ap2?

The v2 is in the begining stages of it's software right now. Give it 5 or 6 months and it will eaisly surpass the 1052 box with the updates.
