Default Air Fuel Ratio

I bought the vortech supercharger and am getting ready to have it installed. I just have a few questions. When you tap the Piggy back fuel computer into the ECU do you have to try to adjust it any? I have a JIC Exhaust system already on my car, is that going to mess with anything? Can i add headers and still have a safe A/F mixture?

Bring it to a dyno and have them check your A/F ratio to make sure its safe. No one can sit here and say whether it is guarenteed safe or not

Thats what i plan on doing when i get it put on. I have heard that the Vortech supercharger Piggy Back fuel computer runs a little on the rich side just to be safe. Im just hoping that it will not drop much with the exhaust and header.

With my comptech non aftercooled I ran very lean 5-7 rpms with berk testpipe and exhaust somewhere around 14.1 then we turned the fuel up and its down to 12.2 at redline does anyone know if that about right? Or should I turn the fuel up a bit

Despite the triple post, yes 12.2 sounds MUCH better then 14.1

The stock Vortech black box tends to run lean at WOT (mine was 14.1 out of the box). This was back in 2003 tho. Vortech may have changed the tune since then. Regardless, don't go nuts until u get it on a dyno and can accurately read your AF ratios...
