Default Best engine build for reliability

I am planning to SC my car relatively soon, it keeps getting pushed back again and again... Now though one of the spark plug electrodes has blown off into the engine and I am envisioning valve/cylinder/piston damage. So depending on if the cylinders are scored very deep it may have to be bored out... What I want to do is install a SOS stage 2 with the novi 1200 and put down at least 400whp ( I know this can be done one a stock block). So if I have to rebuild the engine what route should I go for the greatest reliability at 400whp minimum preferably 450whp if reliability is not much worse. Should I just put it back to stock or try to get a clean engine for the most reliability at that power or do something more interesting?

Do you plan to do the work yourself? If not it's about $1000 of labor just to get the motor out and put it back in.
