Then why did my SAIV read boost on a boost leakdown test?

The item I've removed is definately the SAIV.

SAIVs don't 'read' anything.

Only possibility is that the vacuum line (pressure under boost) to it was leaking. The vacuum line runs from the intake manifold, through an electronically controlled solenoid (originally mounted on OEM airbox but moved to the vacuum canister and mounted under the SC with the Comptech kit) and then to the SAI Valve.

But all of this was superflous after you went AEM so whether or not you have a SAIV in place you can remove this hose and use the manifold connection for something else (mine is connected to my boost sensor) or just cap it.

I blocked mine off too as the Idler Control Valve / Secondary Air Injection Valve leaked boost above 4 psi.

Fixed the problem with the block off plate and found an extra 50whp.
so you put the block of plate on and just cap off the port?(where the red circle is in the pic)

Wouldnt doubt if his was leaking cause mine was too! Thats the reason I made this post. Mine was essentially acting like a wastegate and I have carbon and soot back down the rubber/metal hose all the way to the secondary air pump...

I just took my block-off plate off (manifold on the right) and saved some weight.

That makes more sense. If the valve is leaking you could conceivably lose exhaust pressure to the turbo which drives it and makes boost. Then I remembered Adrenalin is SC!

for instance:

What happens if you block it off but still run a cat? Will it damage the cat, not having its up to operation temp?
