Default Blue smoke after turbo install

OK folks,

So i'm driving around more on my s2k and my fellow s2k'ers are telling me when i drive they see black/bluish smoke...i'm turbo now and i think its because the oil may be getting kinda backed up from the drain line as it Does look kinda slightly kinked and im using the mesh rubber hose but i'm wondering if its cuz i may be running rich? or its actually burning some oil.

they said its not like ALOT but its noticeable.

does anyone know where i can get the drain line similar to the greddy kit or the vortech kit? or was it comptech? lol

Well, after talking with some people about turbos, the s2k has kinda high oil pressure and can blow out the seals if you don't have the proper restrictor in your turbo. Also make sure you let your car cool down.

Hey jon, i was told it does it when i'm cruising and under boost..

when i'm idling nothign comes out and thats why i had no clue...

its not a drastic amount but eeeevery once in awhile i have seen a puff of smoke then just goes away whether it was on the highway or at low low speeds but havent witnessed anything at idle.

i guess on a decel as well..

i thought it was cuz i was running rich or something and when i'm boosting thats what the smoke is.. but its hard to tell.

yea i usually do let the car cool down and i have turbo timer..

its funny cuz this is my 2nd time turboing this car and i think this did the same thing last time lol!!

i spoke with Peter at ISP and and the tuner and they both said that its kinda "normal" if its not alot of smoke cuz of the way the s2000 is i guess...

peter said his car does the same, and the tuner has seen the oil do that on the turbo s2k's he's tuned so i'm not sure...

the hose comes down directly from the turbo into the pan..but the hose fits on the fitting and you use a clamp but well, the mid section of the hose does come down a little further past the fitting then comes up into the fitting, kinda like a " J " but you know, going from the turbo the pan.

so i assume that may be the issue and is backing up some.. but its hard to tell.

well if it happens under boost, its oil getting blown past your rings or lots of pressure is finding its way into the crank case preventing the oil from draining to the pan. If its on decel its either your valve seals or blow-by inside the valve cover getting sucked through the PCV back into the motor. If it burns oil at idle or while cruising its usually the turbo seals due to bad seals or the oil return not flowing correctly or placed to low on the motor.
