Car died - any ideas what may be toast?
Hey guys,
Last week it was raining all morning when I jumped in the car; it started just fine, but when I turned on the headlights it died right away.
I tried to fire it back up, but it would just crank until things started getting really weird.
At first it seemed like AEM stopped sending a signal to the main relay to prime the fuel pump, then it stated cycling it very rapidly - almost sounded like the hazards were on, but it was in fact the pump being cycled. I could not connect to the AEM as it seemed like the firmware got corrupted or something. Couldn't re-flash it either because it would just get stuck at calculating checksums. I swapped the factory ECU in and it sends a signal to the main relay to prime the pump every time, however, it still can't fire up. Got a CEL after several tries to start it up - P0401.

To me it almost seems like there was a voltage spike and something got fried, but I'm completely stumped as to where even to begin. Any advice?
Best regards.

Check fuse 46 and 54 under the hood by the battery.
I once shorted out the ignition plug wires and blew those fuses. Car won't start and could not flash the AEM ems. Got stuck on the checksum as well.

I was driving along and stopped for gas. After filling my tank I jumped back in the S and turned the key. The dash lights flicked on and I hit the start button and the car died. I cycled the key and nothing happened. Popped the hood and found the negative cable on my battery was loose. Turned it a little to snug it up and it started back up.

Lights work.
Fuses and relays look fine.
Moved the neg terminal a bit to see if it was a loose connecton.
Fuel pressure is fine.
Still no dice...

To see if it's fireing pull a coil pack and a plug leave coil pluged into hardness and put the spark plug in the coil pack get it close to metal holding only the rubber and have someone tried to start the car you should see the spark plug start to arc
