Ive never been in a turbo car that spooled up as fast as that thing did. Ill sell that housing if you want it, its been port matched like my 1.0 housing is.

My ultimate goal is a modular turbo setup for drag and autoX with the only variable being the turbo so i can switch from the bw to a garrett 3582r without needing a new downpipe.
Would be interesting to see what what it puts down,. I'm currently on a 362sxe with a bone stock 2.2 and tempted to go smaller to pick up some more response.

Had the week prior to finish the IC piping the correct way. Car was on the dyno yesterday and came off the dyno today with a pushed headgasket. The turbo is maxed out.
Final numbers were 592/439 @ 27 psi. The torque in low rpms is pretty nuts.

The coupler is a hydraflow, same thing as vanjen. I cut a piece of aluminum to keep the flanges 1/8" apart while it was welded so it can move freely once its all done.

Cutting aluminum tubing to the exact angles is not my specialty...this part took me longer than I care to admit

Tacked in place

Final numbers as the car came off the dyno

But you enjoyed it!

Love the Radium fuel damper in the picture. It is the little details that are always most impressive.

BTW, was the limit the size of the turbo? How high a boost would you have gone to if the turbo could handle it?

Thanks. What your seeing the regulator. I have the damper mounted on the under side. I actually changed that hose out to a AN hose as well so its a bit cleaner.

The limit was the turbo out put. I thought the backpressure was going to be the limiting factor because the turbine housing was only a 1.0, but it wasn't, so that's good news and good info for the next guy looking at turbine housing sizes. The 257 is rated for 650hp. My tuner got 592hp to the wheels. Im guessing the only way that was possible was with the aggressive IG timing he was using. I thought we would have been north of 30 psi but it started requiring large changes in the boost duty cycle to gain any more psi out of the turbo, so it was just running out of steam. I built the motor to handle 800hp and that's what we'll go for next on the 3582r.

What wastegate spring do you have? If you cant manipulate he wastegate enough, it might be the limitation of the spring you run, not turbo/exhaust housing.

12lb spring. 4 port solenoid. Being that the turbo is rated for 650 and we got 592 wheel, I'd say the turbo is maxing out

You never know. The GTX3582 G2 is rated for 850, VitViper made over 900 with that turbo...

4 ports help manipulate boost pressure a lot....vs a 3port. You might want to try a different spring. It costs a lot less than a new turbo.

I'm probably wrong, but worth a shot.

Ill have the car back home tomorrow and rip the head off. Already have new gaskets. The main mistake I made was not o ringing the block. Im considering having the head o ringed with a copper ring and still use the oem mls HG. Ill call 4piston in the morning to get their suggestion on it.
