Hmmm, weird. I spoke to Dan at CC and he tells me we put it together exactly as they did with the one they did today. Flywheel>spacer ring>s2k flywheel bolts>clutch assembly. Really stuck now as to what might be wrong. I guess were going to have to do the one thing we didn't want to... Pull the tranny

When you say you feel like he clutch is dragging, is it not fully disengaging? as in, try to push the clutch in, and put it into gear. what happens? or does it not allow it to go into gear?

We had issues on our comp twin where the disc were labeled wrong so one was installed backwards and the disc was hitting the flywheel bolts to start so clutch didnt really disengage, after pulling the transmission and installing properly a few miles later the throw out bearing was sticking and couldn't get it into gear, this problem would sometimes go away after the car was warm. Pulled the trans again and installed another throw out bearing so far so good on this one. They said this was a known issue but didn't seem like they were addressing it. Doubt I'll use them again. There was another s2000 in the shop that also had a comp twin with the plates labeled wrong so might be something to check.

What a night mare! Looks like I'm going to have to pull the transmission. So Mase this means I wont be able to attend tuning tomorrow. I am utterly pissed off. How do you know what's right and wrong when it comes the the plate orientation. I have some pics of the install that I will post up

To answer your question Mase. The clutch is fully disengaged and makes no noise when in neutral. But the car will simply not go into gear. Tried pushing towards all gears and depressing the clutch slowly to feel it pop in and it doesn't. Between gears I imagine it wouldn't fully disengage...

i havent used the competition clutch w/ that hydraulic bearing, so im not entirely sure. I've used the RPS Carbon twin on a couple cars. each disc has to go a certain way, along w/ the floater. When u pull it apart, before u loosen the clutch bolts, u might want to make sure one of the floater edges didnt get pinched when u tightened down the bolts on the pressure plate housing. as far as the clearances with the flywheel bolts, i would have no idea. but when u pull it apart, im sure you will be able to see where it was hitting.

as for the tuning bit, Im here till thursday, looks like I will be going to paris to quickly tune a car down there. then back friday will probably be track tuning a road race car at Brands Hatch road course. then saturday we head to liverpool. After tomorrow's dyno session, I'll have one more car to tune here in london. probably wednesday maybe, we will probably be at surrey rolling road again. So if u can get it sorted by then, let me know and we can tune it later in the week. otherwise I will be back middle january for Phil's wedding and tuning more cars.

Pm me if you have any other questions. Good luck with the fix man.

Mase

I think you should email comp. clutch directly considering this thread is almost 6 years old.

Did you make sure you have .150" of bearing to finger clearance before you installed the trans, and shimmed the bearing correctly?
