comptech fuel pressure regulator

would the car run the same if i was to use a holley fuel pressure regulator instead of a comptech regulator that is suppose to come with the kit?

not enough info.

Is the holley a rising rate regulator? What is the ratio?

AP1's and AP2's use different regulators, with the AP2 using the "stronger" one (I think the ratios are 5:1 and 5.5:1 but don't take that as authoritative).

i thought i added that on my post , but i posted this too fast......

I have a comptech supercharger kit, but it came with a holley fuel pressure regulator instead of the comptech one, my question is if this will work or do i need to get the comptech one to work.

Are you running the base kit with the big pulley..or is it a "tuner" kit with injectors and a standalone ems?

its the base kit with the aftercooler and fuel pump.

Does it have a boost/vacuum reference port on it? If not, then it isn't a rising rate FPR and would not work right with the base kit which utilizes the little black box ESM from Comptech. Do you have an aftermarket ECU like AEM, Hondata, GEMU, etc? Or are you using your stock ECU with the black box from Comptech?

i dont have any other piggybacks besides the esm that comnes with the comptech. i'm only going to be pushing the stock lbs of the kit.

Will the fuel pressure regulator above work with the base kit setup ?

I see what looks like a similar spring pre load adjustment like the one comptech offers, and a vac source so it could very possibly be a rising rate. Looks like one to me. However, If it is, we cant tell what the ramp up rate is, and if that’s going to be compatible for your boost delivery. All you can do is install it and do a couple trials and see if you can get some proper fuel enrichment throughout the rpm range. Be careful though. Hope you have a wideband to check your afr.

Threading that adjuster down increases fuel pressure by the way, if its showing too lean. There is adjustment. Backing it out does the opposite obviously. Stock idle idle pressure is 43.5, but Comptech calls for a start place of around 50 if I remember, but this is rather arbitrary, what matters is your afr through boost. The stock ecu will correct for any reasonable idle pressure. Hope this helps you somewhat.
