Coolant Residue
For a while now, I've noticed the following coolant residue:

I've attributed it to the radiator hose coupler that's used in the SOS kit when modifying the top radiator hose to make room for the aftercooler. As you can kind of tell, I've tried to address it by using some excess hose cut in half and securing it with a zip-tie. However, that didn't seem to help. https://dl.dropbox.com/u/7036956/IMAG0666.jpg http://dl.dropbox.com/u/7036956/IMAG0666.jpg I also noticed this today: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/7036956/IMAG0664.jpg http://dl.dropbox.com/u/7036956/IMAG0664.jpg Any cause for concern? Coolant (i.e., OEM) level is fine. '05 with the base SOS kit. |
Your pics don't work.

Bump...
Hopefully people can see the pictures? |
Yea, don't look like a big deal. I'd wipe the residue off and carry on. Does it keep showing up regularly or is it just during the removal and install that it'll happen? If it's just because it was removed it's completely expected depending on the type of coolant used.

I had a small leak at the location where the upper radiator hose is cut for the SOS kit. My leak went away after tightening up the clamps. I did not have that residue build-up though. Maybe your clamps need to be tighten some more.

Ultimately, I assume it's no big deal aside from keeping my eye on the coolant level and a little messy residue here and there? |
Correct.
