CT Engineering SC S2K Bogs near Vtech Engagement

Car breaks up a bit around 5k rpm with around 50-75% throttle and it seems more common when it’s hot out (it was cooler out the other day and it maybe did it once). Not sure if it’s the tune or not.

Car was dyno tuned on a v2 Hondata kpro in 2011 (I just obtained the car). All I did was enable the AC Pin out and convert the old file to the new Hondata software version. Can the AC cause this?

plugs were gapped at .032. Gapped them at .030 with no change

wacked the MAP, but it still has the issue.
car only has 32k miles so everything seems clean and not worn but this is stumping me.

Did you also disable the VTEC oil pressure switch?
If you have a log with when the problem occurs I can take a look.

sorry the log is a bit long, but it occurs during the top end of the rpm ramp. I think the first peak on the log is the best example. I don’t have my laptop so I’m trying to imagine the log by memory.i can try and get a better log later if that one isn’t good. Thanks

i did not touch the oil pressure switch. But I’m not sure if it’s enabled or disabled

Got the file, I'll take a look after dinner.
Can you share the calibration as well?

It looked kind of clean when you floored it, intake temp is very high though and it is running constantly in open loop for some reason?
Converting tunes can be pretty risky and you should really have someone knowledgeable look through it.
Do you have a wideband installed so you can monitor AFR?

Tune File

weird the intake temp is high, it has the CT intake. Maybe I’ll pull it off and see if the filter is clogged. On the outside it looked fine. Maybe it’s the sensor.

if all roads lead to a tune then that’s where I’ll go. I was really trying to make sure all the mechanical items are in check prior to going to a tuner.

Previous owner gave me a wideband and AEM gauges but I haven’t gotten around to it. This is the next item on my list to tackle. I hopefully will install it in the next week. Thanks for checking it out though

You need to input the dead times for the injectors you are running, looks like you got stock setting there but 1000cc injectors.
There is no intake temp compensation for higher temps, I would use stock numbers there.
Closed loop is disabled, this is really bad unless this is a full race car.
If you got a v2 board then I don't think you can run a wideband directly to the ecu.
You need to switch to a PRA calibration instead and choose secondary sensor for closed loop operation, check the included AP1 cal for reference.
I would not run this at any kind of boost without an AFR gauge to see what is going on.

Okay I’m definitely going to look into those setting and fix them. I’m assuming that converting the tune may have messed with those. I’ll install the AFR gauge tomorrow to make sure it’s not leaning out. I’m going to set a date to just get it retuned so it’s dialed. Thanks for the help, honestly learned a lot

If you figure this one out post the solution. I've been chasing a similar issue with my AP1 for months. Everything mechanical looks good, MAP, TPS, coils and O2 all have been checked. but I'm randomly getting a sudden cut in revs above 6k as if I'm hitting an artificial limiter.

I actually found a shop that is owned by someone that did all the work to my s2k 15 years ago. I’m bringing it in July 22 to help diagnose and retune (might switch from a v2 Hondata to a haltech). I’ll update with findings once I do that
