CTSC Problem

I went to the 1/4 strip lastnight and over all I could not break the 14s and was gettin beat by stock S's.... Im sc'd and dynod at 315 rwhp. Latelt the S has not seemed as powerful as it usually is. I checked the copulers that seal the blower to the AC to the manifuld and give it some throtle to see if its leaking and can not detect a leak. Where else should I look to have this loss of power dignosed? And for the trach, my reaction times were .5 - .2.... and just couldnt break 14, i was shifting at redline flawlessly so im lost here.

Oh ya, and i checked the belt and it seems nice and tight

Do you have a boost gauge?

Kyushin Sep 5, 2007 08:24 PM

no, guess i should start there?

What was your trap speed? Were the tires spinning a lot?

Kyushin Sep 5, 2007 08:56 PM

trapped 104.2 and not much wheel spin

Don't feel bad, I suck at drag racing too. :p

A 104 trap, while not particularly good for a SC car, should be running mid 13's. Take it back to the track a couple more times and I bet that fixes the problem.

Yeah, I would start with a boost gauge. If the car is running healthy (outside of the loss of power), I have a gut feeling you are not making all the boost you should. That means belt slip, a boost leak, or possibly a bad supercharger (but I really doubt this). You should disconnect the outlet side of the supercharger and check for oil.

Kyushin Sep 6, 2007 06:53 AM

Ill do that courage, and if i find oil on the outlet side, that means rebuild?

How are your tires? Was your car drag prep'ed? Need more info on rest of your car.
