Default Current E85 Prices?

Like the titles states,

Moving in a 2010 F350 Gasoline /flexfuel Box truck.

10mpg E85
14mpg Gasoline

Looks to be not such a great deal really to run flex fuel, given the economygov site it's MORE expensive but perhaps prices have fluctuated in E85s favor.

I'm seeing a 7%-16% price spread between the two fuels.... average being closer to 11% spread so it doesn't look like running flex fuel makes any sense at all. WTF is the point of this crap? Govt subsidized and still isn't really any cheaper? Gimme a break.

E85 gives about 25-30% less MPG.

So nowhere in California is it worthwhile at all.

Am I missing something here? Sure hope so.

It's worth it here in aust for the moment..

98ron fuel - $1.60-1.75 p/litre
E85 - $1.10-1.30

I must Have a fuel leak though because I'm only getting 150km per tank on average.

Ummm..... that's not worth it at all!!!!

Except at 150km a tank it's a HORRIBLE DEAL!!!! OMG That's only 93 miles! We can get nearly 400 miles or 650km to a tank turbocharged running gasoline. 13.2 gallon tank over there same as here right?

Mind you my last tune was horrible on partial throttle but this tune I'm hoping to get about that. I know of a few getting over 30mpg turbocharged. I know of ONE guy getting 38mpg on gasoline, that's nearly 500miles to a tank or 804 miles, consider that against your 93 miles! I don't think I'll be running E85 ever at this rate. Damn!

Silly option for our "future" it seems especially when you consider the negative issues with using corn for fuel.

Interesting info on the mileage Manny, most everything I'm reading from reviews online by independent owners shows easily a 35% mileage drop or more in many cases. Tuning perhaps as part of the cause but I'd expect the factories are trying to make the most of it, seems ridiculous they wouldn't.

The only real attraction to E85 in my opinion is if you're heavily modding the car. It's cheaper than race fuel, more abundant, and lets you run a way more aggressive tune than pump gas.

for passenger cars who dont race this is not a real bargain anymore besides the 30% loss in MPG's
For racing i have to admit it is ALOT cheaper than ms109 or c16 but let me say it is a messy fuel.
