Your block should be re-sleeved. Build it bigger and stronger than before. My .02

Just curious, is that due to damage?

I dont think thats bad enough to have to have it bored. From the looks of it, a good hone will get all that out and make it like new. Can you feel the scrapes very well with your fingernail? Do the scrapes feel very deep? They dont look very bad to me.

Man i hope your right!! ...I cant feel anything, these feel silky smooth :-)...I automatically assumed with the tiny scoring and itty bitty nicks that i needed boring. But its such minimal damage i dont see why honing wont fix it.......Another question and my apologies if this is a dumb question.
I cant run mahle forged low compression piston with these stock sleeves?

If the Mahle pistons are FRM compliant than yes, you can run them.

That seems to be the general idea im getting from people ive talked too. Cylinder 3 (which had the worst of everything, leaky injector, worst piston ring land damage) has the worst of the nicks, but you can barely even catch a nail on it. Ive read this can lead to accelerated ring damage, but this car is barely gonna be driven, and its not gonna be raped for power. I made 370tq with this damage, so im stoked to see what it will make now I also had NO ring damage, just cracked ring lands.
Im not an expert on cylinder walls, but i would be shocked if my machinist tells me tomorrow that i have re-sleeve the block. So for now ill get a used block and re-sleeve it for the forged setup to come later on down the road.
Im just gonna run stock bottom end again with minimal boost (10-13psi). Once it comes time to pull it back out ill rebuild it with a forged bottom end.
Off to the machine shop tomorrow with the block, ill post tomorrow and keep you guys updated. Thanks for the help!!

Agreed, the rule of thumb is if you can't feel them with your fingernail it doesn't need bored.

Hone and call it a day.
