I wired up my E-manage, igntion and injection harnesses and P'n'P ECU harness (http://www.vtecfrog.com/) last night. Thanks to Wesmaster and others for various diagrams. And thanks to Pascal at VTECFROG for colour coding the E-manage specific P'n'P harness. Made wiring up very easy. All connections are soldered and shrink wrapped.

Before I plug it in I'd like to run a check list past those that have already done this.

My aim is to get the E-manage installed and doing nothing but hiding boost at this point. No interfering with timing or injector pulse. That can all be done by my tuner on a dyno a bit later.

I did not use the resistor.

I have the jumpers set as per Wesmaster's instructions and the unit seems to recognise them as F20C.

To hide the boost from the ECU do I just enter 2.90 in all the boxes across the rev range? Any idea why it only goes to 8000?

Do I need to manually set the VTEC changeover? If I leave that option turned off will it just pass on the ECU VTEC signal? Likewise with other maps?

I've heard of people blowing coil packs. What causes this? Is it incorrect wiring or a software setting?

I intend to run this way until I receive my upgrade injectors. Then I will install them and a smaller pulley and tune properly on a dyno.

All help greatly appreciated.

the map sensor clamp needs to go all the way to redline. I ended up clamping mine at 2.6v.

I'd leave the VTEC settings alone. Or for the tuner to play with.

If you're not going to adjust certain things, just leave the boxes unchecked.

So how do I change the range of the Boost Cut setting?

AusS2000 11-10-2003 01:29 AM

I installed tonight and she runs at least. Started first time so I can be confident the ignition wiring is correct.

I'm mounting behind the passenger (left) seat and will finish off tomorrow.

I'd love some answers to the original questions though.

Well in answer to my question about the 8000 rpm range on the Boost Cut feature you can edit the RPM points. I just set the last point to 9200 as I assume it interpolates between points and that would cover the range. They are all set to 2.9V.

I ran her last night and she went well. Got up to redline at full boost with no detonation or other ill effects. So I guess the Boost Cut is working and everything else is just passing through. Has to be the worlds most expensive boost cut defender. ;)

Looking forward to the injectors and smaller pulley and a bit of tuning.

BTW, is anybody actually reading this thread? I put a lot of work into the original post (just to keep xviper happy) yet I've had one response (Thanks Kane). Perhaps in future I'll write threads titled "Wot u need for emanage" with a question mark in the body.

I'm reading.

Phew! ;)

Thanks for the post AusS2000.
I hope things go well with the injectors and the *dreaded* fuel pump installation.
