Payn was my tuner as well, (well, Devin tuned). I too am running 16 degrees of timing in boost. At 8psi, I did 312whp/202 wtq on their dyno. BTW, 16 degrees of timing is WAY conservative
I just used the high temp Orange Silicon for my turbo-manifold mating surface. That, or make sure both surfaces are perfectly flat and dont use any gaskets

I haven't anything strange yet *knock on wood*

My tuner told me detonation sounds like marbles rolling around. So if you hear something to that extent then I would assume it is detonation.

I'm running an 11.8 A/F which was done to make things a little more on the safe side. I know a lot of boosted guys have a range sometimes in the 12's and are doing okay, so hopefully at 9psi I will be fine with my tuning parameters.

My tuner also told me 16 degrees is quite conservative, but someone else told me it was quite aggressive

I think everything should be okay. But I'll hold off fully until I get my AEM EMS put in. I will only punch it for the necessary situations

Mine kinda sounds like static. Hopefully it's nothing and I'm just being paranoid. But I think I'll pull a couple degrees of timing at the top end just to be safe. Also, I kinda figured that if there was detonation, the sensors would pick it up and through a CEL. Speaking of the CEL's. Have you gotten any yet? I have gotten "too rich", "cat below threshold", and "trim malfunction". Can't remember the actual code #'s. It doesn't happen too often but they pop up probably every 1500 miles. I'm thinking of doing the mechanical O2 simulator on both sensors and see if this stops it. What do you think? Here is the link if you haven't seen it yet. https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.ph...ic=229959&st=0

When I read your post I realized I spelled the name wrong. Is 16 degrees of timing the factory setting? I wonder why mine was only 287 whp and 198 tq and yours is higher? Do you have the UR turbo kit and have you uped the boost or done anything to the engine or anything?

Nevermind the previous post. I also just realized you built your own kit and I've spoken with you before. Sorry. But I wonder why my hp is down on yours. And is 16 degrees the factory settings? Thanks

Your hp figures are lower because it was done on a Mustang dyno. You would definitely be over the 300 mark if it was done on a dynojet.

I have gotten a CEL and the code was 1106 or 1107. Pretty sure it is one of those... it says barometric pressure sensor or something. That is the only one i've gotten. Darryl told me there is nothing to worry about. They have gotten it on a lot of their s2k's with their kit. Just the stock ECU being picky with boost.

Well, the thing is, I did a dyno run on a Dynojet at a friends shop in Indiana and got about 275 whp and around 192 tq but it was real hot and humid. Probably around 95 degrees. This was last summer and after I had put about 2500 miles on the kit. But it was kinda worrying me because I thought, even though it was hot, on the Dynojet it would be a lot higher hp #'s. I just hope that I'm not loosing hp because something is wrong with the engine or something. Like because the oil pressure is around 60 psi at 9000 rpm and maybe I have scuffed a piston or something. But I never loose a drop of oil in the 2000 mile timeframe I give before changing it. Things are really weird. Any suggestions?

I don't really understand what was left at stock. You do have the Emanage right? Nothing was adjusted at all? What is your A/F?

I feel like going for a dyno run right now to see what's going on.

Yeah, I'm using the Emanage and the A/F was set around 11.8. That's why I thought I would have better HP #'s than I'm getting. Because very much leaner could be bad. And what I meant is, was 16 degrees timing the way it was from factory or did you lower to that? Sorry for the confusion.
