nice setup, just curious what happens if it fails to open though?
It's happened...
The car of course isnt as fast and AFR's are at 11:1 instead of 12:1 per my data logs during the occurance.

The cutout starts to open around 6 psi and is fully open around 14 or so psi.. I can drive normally and boost without it really being noticable or open.. When I get on it and get the RPM's and boost up the cutout opens as well as my open wastegate dump and it turns heads..

I've had plenty of people come up on me with the thought that they would destroy me as my car appears stock, only for them to get their a$$ handed to them as I pull away. LOL My last victim was a brand new M3 and I could tell he was pissed about things after.

I am with Kevin on this one, defiantly stay away for the electronic cutouts as they open to slow. By the time your cutout opens I will already have several car on you.

As for backpressure less is better, the differential pressure across the turbine needs to be as high as possible to get the best spool you can, all ealse being equal. So this means lowering the exhaust backpressure.

Here is how I set up my boost actuated cutout from Sound Performance.

As for traditional systems hands down ASURA's is the best available. It sounded like a Yoshimira system on a sport bike. I really loved the sound, it was perfectly tuned, never popped on decel and with my turbo it sounded like a jet car going by. Unfortunatly my wife wanted the factory exhaust back on so now it is just sitting in the basement waiting on a new home.

Here are some video's of my ASURA System in action, notice how the exhaust never gets raspy and through the entire power band sounds tuned.

I have to agree the Asura exhaust sounds great with a turbo. Mine with a 3 inch asura cat was quiter than Scott's with almost no drone just a nice rumble. Which reminds me, Scott send me a vid of my car on the dyno will ya

Dual 3" > single 4"

I made the downpipe back on my setup w/3" mandrel pipe mig'd.

One resonator, and 2 "turbo" mufflers.

Quiet around town, and not bad @ WOT either.

Summit resonator, hooker mufflers.

I have like ~$450 in it.

You guys are nuts I though my car was loud with my Asura and it was tame compaired to most of the other aftermarket systems I have heard.

Those "Race" mufflers no muffler or little buldges in the pipe, must be ridicuously loud, do you guys wear ear plugs when you have to drive more than a few miles?
