The AEM wideband I have doesn't read accurately untill the sensor has warmed up, even then is in the 16's at idle

There are a couple of numbers here...

Cold start in the morning...
It initializes at around 14.. and then moves on down to 12 for a 'starting' enrichment cycle.... my tuner did this....

After the car has been warmed up...for a restart.. say .. go to lunch or something...

It initializes at 14 and then quckly starts bouncing around at the 16 - 17 range... I asked the tuner about it.. and he said that it had to do w/ the wideband warming back up... When i pull up the AEM tool.. the O2 readings look fine...

I hope that helps!

thanks for ALL your replies guys

i was curious because when I had the 550cc's injectors, the car would start at 14 something, then it would go to about 16. something. Then when warmed up it would stabalize at around stoich ratio

But when I upgraded the injectors to 650cc's , even after pulling fuel from the e-manage, initial warm up dips low into the 12's high 11's

The larger the injectors, the harder it is to get a smooth idle and will have to run a little richer to be smoother.

Yeah without a doubt. the idle and low speed drveability sucks, specially in traffic. Car jerks a bit.

i've got 650s and an aem..

low speed driveability is not an issue for me.

my tune (though at a time.. a nightmare) for idle.. is pretty stable.. visual on the engine has no vibration. revs go from about 1100 and on occasion drop to 9 before it cycles back up ( i think its the a/c ).

what type of FPR and engine mgmt are you using?

I think he's using the E-Manage and part throttle driving with those really sucks. Mine did the same thing(when I had it) and I believe it has to do with the TPS(throttle position sensor) and the way the E-Manage controls it.

Also, I have 578cc injectors and found that with the AEM, 12-12.5:1 A/F at idle did the best and it idles very smooth at 850 rpm.
