Default Few questions

So after two months of acting crazy. I decided not to sell my s2k. I came close twice, couldn't pull the trigger. So now I'm going crazy. Spent about a thousand bucks. Got eibach, front spoiler, and some other things. Well one question is what exhaust should I get. I am leaning towards getting greddy turbo kit. But I'm gonna get exhaust first. I was leaning towarrds greddy tic dials but don't want to buy it and it be no good when I get turbo kit.

With that greddy kit, do I have to take it to get tuned? I do eventually want to up boost to 9 or so. But in the meantime can't I just install it without going to get tuned. I need time so I can upgrade clutch.

What y'all think

I believe the Greddy Kit comes with an E-Manage to use which is "considered" a plug and play, but I honestly suggest just using it to get you to a reputable tuner so you can get it done right.

DONT GO GREDDY!!
no offense to greddy owners but once you go boost its a drug and you become addicted. So DO NOT (considering you seem to be financial stable) get stuck with a small turbo kit and a 70mm exhaust. If you just spend the extra grand or 2 and do it right from the start you will end up saving time and money by not having to upgrade like most turbo addicts eventually do lol.
Now if you really don't want to go big and just want a littttle more kick then you can always consider bolt on supercharger kits
(i.e. kraft works, vortec, ect ect).
Please just think it over if your really into performance and just reallllly urge to have a FAST car then GO BIG from the start but if you really just want to be a bit quicker, funner car id say go for the greddy kit or a nice supercharger set up.
Every F/I application will always require some kind of tuning no matter how you look at it. Kits like Greddy will supply ECU with a BASEMAP which is meant just to get the car to a tuner because every gar needs a unique tune.
If you do decide to heed my advice and want to go big from the get, there are many kits available such a Full Race, or Love Fab. The list goes on FOREVER now with high horsepower applications which are manageable with stock internals or you can even go for the 3mm head gasket and get bigger power by lowering compression ratio and upping boost.

check that out this guy recently finished his build with STOCK internals and 3mm head gasket + Borg Warner fatty turbo lol made 520WHP on PUMP and 772 on Q16 race gas with
STOCK
INTERNALS
albeit im sure that motor cant hold it forever but its still running.. BTW he rapes ZR1's supposedly so yea...
its up to you man lol. The options are limitless with the S2000 really can do ANYTHING to it if you got the cash.

Thanks for the quick replies guys. Yeah I totally understand the addiction. I do however want a car that won't need work all the time. My car is basically a weekend car. I just wanna be able to turn it on and go so that's why I was looking at the greddy kit. I will however go get it tuned. Seems like that's what everybody agrees on that one. I'll probably wait I guess. But it's so tempting not too lol. Is there an exhaust I could get right now that would be nice na, but won't have to upgrade when I do get turbo? I really believe that I will be pretty happy with 300 hp to the wheels.

yah i have a greddy kit and it is decent.... Lots of low end.. But i do agree that it is like a drug and is very addicting... I run a 3" turbo back with my car with a ported wastegate and have no problems with creep... It would be extremely loud if u went 3" NA tho... So im not sure... Im sure with those power goals a greddy ti-c would be just fine.. And I think they are not too bad NA as well... U will need a tune tho.. The basemap is ok to drive to get tuned but it is extremely rich and so much more power is available after a tune... let me know if u have any more questions..

Could you explain to me what is creep? And how it can be fixed?

Go through the ultimate greddy thread or whatever it is called.. Everything you will most likely have questions about is in there.. But creeping is caused by the WG not allowing enough air flow to exit causing it create more boost.. (makes your boost levels go higher than WG setting or BC setting)

creep= dangerous

good luck... there is a tonnn of information in the greddy thread.. thats where I started and learned a lot just from that one thread.. good for getting to know how FI works

Wow seems to me there are many issues when it comes to turboing the s2k. Reliablitlity kinda went out the window huh? I guess a lot more research is needed.

I wonder if Supercharger is more reliable?

some say yes, but that is not always the case... The best way to get good reliability is to get a good tune from a trusted tuner... Bost ways put more stress on the engine but like I said, both are ok with a good tune.. It's a good idea to research a little more and really know what to expect then there are no surprises when u do go FI... Good luck

glad to hear man
as far as the exhaust I recommend the InlinePro turbo back 127%. most people do not know this, but that exhaust sounds good as Hell. I had mine for a few months but made the rediculous decision to sell it because I wanted to run open downpipe. Not only will you be ready for boost with the 80mm piping, but it sounds badass, and last but not least looks badass. Heres a photo for you to think on:

...no offense to GReddy owners, but please dont do that to yourself man. If you go with that kit there really isnt any room for expansion and changing your setup. Not to mention external wastegate is a lot more fun . Regardless, were glad you kept your car, just keep the car clean and stay fly son
