Default Finally a T56 transmission swap option

Hey Guys,

I've been talking with a very reputable transmission company here in Indiana that has been doing quite a few T56 transmissions for the S2k and I'm not too sure why it hasn't been posted on more here. They will build the T56 with billet gears and to be able to handle butter smooth shifts at upwards of 10k rpm and handle around 1000 wtq. This trans will be able to be flogged and you won't have to deal with another trans issue again. They are also able to adapt the stock s2k bell housing to the T56 for easy install and the price is a couple thousand less than the v160 swap but is built and can handle all kinds of abuse. Gears 1-4 will be straight cut dog ring and 5-6 will be synchronized.

If anyone is interested in learning more about this, you can PM me and I'll let you in on what's what.

Here are a few pics of the setup.

Very interested. Would make a v8 swap a lot more seamless.

I'm having a hard time understanding how a t56 with an adapted f20/22's bell housing will make swapping in a v8 more seamless. This is for putting a t56 behind an f20/22.

With that said, I am extremely interested, but I'd like to know if they can do custom gearing in the trans. I'd like it more in line with stock trans gearing with 3.90s in the diff. I don't go to straight tracks enough to justify the low low gearing but I like the "bullet proofness" this would provide.

Have they given you a total price? What about trans mounting? Shifter location same as stock?

Seamless for my application. Not as a general rule.

Yes, they have quoted me the price and it's with billet gear set and very strong. I'm not positive on what gearing they can offer but the trans I was quoted will be:
2.71 1st
1.79 2nd
1.30 3rd
1.00 4th
.80 5th
.54 6th

Shifter location should be dead on in the stock location. The only thing you will need to supply is the rear mount but I am also working on that with another member on here. And if you want the stock speed sensor to work, you will need the adapter that Import Muscle sells ($399 with a Dakota speed signal adapter that we may not need if staying with the 4.10 diff gearing, so we may be able to just get the sensor adapter cheaper). They also have a rear trans mount kit for $200 and they are the gurus on the V8 swap with the T56.

Note also that you may need to change out the stock clutch master cylinder with a Wilwood or something comparable for around $75 since the stock one won't push enough fluid for the T56 slave. I'm still researching this as I'm not sure if the reservoir just isn't large enough to supply enough fluid or if the actual master cylinder isn't strong enough. If it's just a reservoir issue, we may just be able to swap in a larger Honda reservoir to accommodate the extra fluid.

Refresh me, what's the weight difference? Also I'd like a PM with more info.

Please explain. I just don't see how a transmission mated to an s2000 bell housing will help you install a v8 to said trans. Are there v8s that use the s2000 bell housing?

Either way, Spoolin, PM me the details.

I'm not up on the weight difference but I'm sure it's not too much heavier than the stocker. This is for big power S's and reliability at higher power and abuse. PM sent.
