Default Front Mount Intercooler for C/S

Has anyone ever had a custom front mount intercooler made to use with a Comptech Supercharger? Would that have any benifits over a Comptech aftercooler?

Thanks. I want to get one done, but I wonder if it would work as good or better as the C/T A/C.

My view: Both cool the charge air adequately but the AC has a much shorter charge path.

with Aus. The Aftercoolers have the shortest path from the SC to the intake. you'll loose more Boost with a front mount Air to air intercooler than the Aftercooler.

I know it looks cool and all but why would you rob your own horse power?

If you want the looks, just get the tech2 aftercooler radiator. It looks like an intercooler and works with the aftercooler.

it is no secret that aftercoolers aren't as efficient as air to air intercoolers, that is in real world conditions anyways. water will heat soak and loose its efficiency no matter the size of the front mount water cooler. water can only be cooled to ambient temperatures in these conditions. and thats what you get an ambient temp air charge in your engine. which isn't bad by any means but air to air will drop temperatures lower. sure you can have ice water to get it colder but that is only realistic in drag racing.
also, you may drop some pressure due to longer piping but the denser air will make up for it. and a smaller pulley will bump it up even more.

It is my understanding that water absorbs heat better than air so an air-water is more efficient than air-air unless the coolant reaches a point of heat saturation.

So the question is not one of efficiency, but capacity. The ability to disipate heat at a rate higher than it absorbs it. And as we are talking about very modest boost levels I suspect the stock AW coolers have more than adequate capacity. And if they don't then add the Tech 2 Radiator and you not only get the capacity, but also the look, which is what I suspect is the impetus for this thread in the first place.
