Default Full Race T4 Twin Scroll - GTX3076R vs GTX3576R?

Need a little advice on which turbo to get. Currently going with a Full Race T4 twin scroll kit and plan to go Garrett. I'm stuck on the GTX3076R or GTX3576R 1.06 A/R Gen 2 for both. I'm looking for 450-500whp on a dynojet with pump gas on ID1000s. I'm not so hung up on big numbers, I just want decently quick spool and overall response. My ideal spool characteristic is to start building boost at 4,500rpm (earlier would be nice).

My main concern is the GTX3076R being way too small to utilize the T4 Twin Scroll's capabilities.

Thoughts? And thanks for the input.

A 3076 is a relatively quick spooling turbo in a single scroll design. I'd recommend the 3576 or even the 3582 to take advantage of the twin scroll with the larger turbine. The 3076's seem to start to choke out up top around 7000rpms on these engines. It's not terrible by any means, but can be seen on a dyno graph where the torque starts to fall flat. It seems to me that the 30 series turbine just can't support the extreme flow up top. Combine that with a twin scroll and it may feel like the power is falling off prematurely. The 1.06ar will help you, but you are giving up efficiency. The 3582 is definitely overkill for your goals, but it is a more efficient turbo all around. You could make the same power on lower boost...and with your twin scroll setup, the lag would be cut down substantially.

All this is based of my research that I have done recently on Garrett turbos. I too was stuck deciding between the 3076, 3576, and 3582. My setup is a single scroll so I put in the order for the 3576. I don't have first hand experience yet, but if the science is right...it should work out.

3576 will get you 50 more whp with the same spool-up due to better blade speed ratio resulting in better turbine efficiency. Even not maxed out, the GT35 turbine will have less back pressure allowing for more timing and power in the mid-range. And that T4 housing was probably originally designed for the GT35 turbine which has a taller inducer blade height, so the GT30 turbine likely won't be was well matched.

Thanks for he quick replies. I thought I wanted the 3076R until further research shows it's better suited for a single scroll setup and T3 non-divided flange. Also it does tend to choke up top with our cars.

Sorry I made a mistake in the original message. I'm comparing the 3076R vs 3576R. How would the spool time be in that T4 twin scroll setup?

Which kit did you go with and which AR? Interested in your results!

This. It's been tested well on other platforms. I'm ready to see the results from mine on the s2000.

I am part of the ptuning group buy. (there is still one slot open if you haven't made your purchase yet ) I choose the .82ar. The .63 is too restrictive for my goals, and didn't want the lag from the 1.03. I plan on doing a build thread once it is all said and done.

I don't think the 3076R is a bad choice for a turbo on this car. I made plenty of power at 18psi with it on a Ptuning build. The turbo did start to run out of steam at 20psi but at 567 whp I was satisfied. I think with the gen 2 turbo it will be even better.

Will the GTX3076R GEN II 1.06 AR still be able to take advantage of Full Race's T4 twin scroll design? If It was a T3 single scroll, the 3071/3076R I know will be perfect and a no brainer for my goals with a smaller AR.
