Default Gates GreenHD belt

Hey, I’m getting ready to install a SOS tuner kit on my ap1 and I went ahead a picked up a 3.6 Griptech pulley. I’ve searched the forums, Google, and YouTube to try and find what size Gates green HD belt to use. Is there a specific part number everyone uses for that size pulley? or is it trail and error?

Use the same size as the regular belts https://www.scienceofspeed.com/index...rive-belt.html

I read somewhere that you're better off using normal and non-green/RPM performance belts when you're using griptech pulley. Also a cheaper option this way too.

I am hesitant to using those belts, they always fail under normal use on audi's. Or they squeak, use a regular because this will not add ANY performance to your package.

I’ve seen mixed reviews from posts. Some people have had Gates RPM belts tear apart and others complain about belt slip with the belt included in the SC. LHT kinda has me sold with the greenHD belt after I saw their review. I guess I’ll find out and let y’all know

I run the Gates Green HD belt on my Vortech supercharger and she goes to 9 grand without a squeak from that belt. They take a little less tension than the normal, weaker black belts though. They also tend to stretch out for a little while longer in my experience but I believe after the miles I've put on it no more stretching is occurring. It's a good belt especially for a blown setup.

It's a good belt bro, Go for it! As for size my current 1250 (or 1270) should fit your 3.6" pulley nicely. The tensioner will take up the slack. You could probably go down to a 1240 if that ever became an issue. Second to this green belt is most likely the Gator Back that Goodyear used to make before Continental took over. I currently have a Continental Gator Back as a backup.

In addition to the blower belt I'm running matching green Gates for the accessories too. I've never heard any weird noises from there and the auto tensioner is solely responsible for tensioning that belt up so if there were anomalies I'd have known by now. Maybe it's different for Audi's...
