Default Which gauge pillar is better?

Hey guys,

What gauge pillar should I get between the SOS and Autometer (for 2 gauges)? I've done some extensive searches, but didn't find enough info in the threads to help me make a solid decision. Hopefully you guys can help.

From what I've researched both pillars are in the same price range of about $75. SOS is an overlay, and I think the autometer is a direct replacement? Which has the better fit? For those of you that have either of these, please share your experiences.

Thanks.

Edit: I also saw a pillar from speedhut which is much cheaper. Any one have this one?

autometer is an overlay just like the SOS.
I have the autometer and the fit is excellent. The only thing is that the texture of it isn't a perfect match with the stock plastics but its not noticeable to the point that it looks awkward or out of place.

I have the SOS and the fitment is great as an overlay. But I decided not to use it as an overlay but as a direct replacement. I had to drill holes at the bottom to allow the vent to flow through it. The color of the plastic is also a good match.

You've probably seen this thread.

SOS one i think is the best.
Fit quality is nice. Texture and color are almost spot on. If you want to use it as a replacement you can. Comes with a cap for the screw. Nice piece, would buy again if needed.

Also they make RHD drive version also if needed.

I'm not a big fan of having gauges on the pillar, so if you're not either, you can do something similar to me.

I have 1 PLX multi-gauge with their AFR module and their boost/vac module (I believe each multi-gauge can be hooked up to 4 modules) and mounted the gauge on the steering column.

i have the autometer, the finish isnt as close as i wanted it and keep in mind that large wires or tubes will be a tight fit if not fit at all. i have the AEM boost guage/controller and A/F uego guage which both have hella thick wires plus the rubber vac line and none of that stuff fits. it could be im just retarded or something but i cant figure it out and looking for a direct replacement also.
