Thumbs up Got my CTSC installed finally...

I finally got my Comptech SC w/AC installed last weekend. Big thanks to Ryan aka heresnowhy! Im very happy with it and am glad I bought it. My car seems to run really rich though, especially when I really rev it out. Im not planning on upping the boost from what it comes at(5.5psi) but I am planning on getting a VAFC and a tune.

I have a couple new questions:

1.) Im currently running the Amuse dual R1 Titan(60mm, designed just like oem).
Im putting on a factory oem AP2 exh. this weekend and was wondering if I should get new piping made for it? I was thinking 2.75" or 3". Would this even work with the stock mufflers? Would it be ok since Im not tuned yet to run a larger exh.? Should I just leave the AP2 exh. as is and start looking for an aftermarket 70mm?( J's 70rs )

2.) Dumb question I think, but ok . . . Im using Mobil syn 10/30(always have). Should I use 5/30?

Thanks, again . . .

I happen to know the guy that sold that kit to "heresnowy". He had his car dyno'd and it was very lean. He cranked the FPR up ("2 turns", in his words, which is huge) to raise the fuel pressure, and never re-dyno'd.

Don't bother with the 02-03 ECU. A simple dyno and re-calibration of the FPR would do wonders for that SC. You're correct though it's tuned very rich right now. A VAFC would help to lean out any rich spots that you couldn't get with the FPR If you have any questions let me know. I think John, the guy that sold the SC to heresnowy, moved but I may be able to get in contact w/ him.

I'd suggest getting a wideband and tweaking the FPR to where you want it. That'd probably be the cheapest way to get the best power of the kit.

A friend of mine (MY00) and I (MY02) dynoed back to back with the same exact mods, there was only a difference of ~.5hp and 1tq between the two of us. No reason to upgrade the ECU.

Thanks for the info guys.
Guess I'll just get it on a dyno and get the FPR tuned so it runs a little leaner.
scottrunsxc , I didnt buy the kit from Ryan. I bought it brand new from someone else and Ryan did the install for me.

I've ran my car on mobil 10/30 for over 25k S/C'ed miles without issue.

hum..maybe a Testpipe and exhaust will lean it out a bit. get a dyno first and see where you're at.

i'd say just do the exhaust mods you want and drive it to the tuner with no belt or keep it below 4k.

Ok. thanks, I'll just leave the oem exh. alone and wait till I can afford a 70mm exh., VAFC(maybe), and tune.

Go for the AEM FIC, it doesnt have the detuning problems the VFAC does and it also has alot more options and is nearly in the same price range
