Once my car is started I don't notice my Walbro 255 at all, my car isn't crazy loud or anything like that either.
Not sure if those that claim they are whining like crazy runs really high pressures or what the deal is?
But I agree if you are doing the upgraded wiring you might as well go for a higher flow pump.

Another walbro 450 user here. I have the SOS mounting kit, and it was worth every penny. The experience is like OEM.

Back about 6 years ago there was no other options and the walbro 255 was the only in tank high flow after market pump on the market. Now there are much better similar priced options.
Probably was a 255 then.

In my previous SC'd S2K (where the V2 kit I have comes from - minus the pump) I didn't hear a loud noise from the fuel pump except on start-up when it primed louder than stock. Got friends with the same kit on their cars and assuming that they have the supplied 255 pump installed, none have complained about excessive noise from their pumps. Wondering if flanders is on to something with his comment about really high pressures contributing to noise?

Good point. Curious to see the responses.

How loud are your ITB's and exhaust again?

Do the fuel pumps on cable throttle and DBW cars differ or are they universal?

ITB's are inside a big plastic box and my exhaust is one of the least loud aftermarket systems there is.
95dB track limits are no problem so yes it's definitely not crazy loud
