Oh man... you just gave me a blast from the past moment there back to my Bearings class back in college.

I haven't heard that term in a while... lol.

So maybe those $500 can be spent better somewhere else.

Jon... you're the man dude!!!!... haha.

Andre
Put it this way, I'm making almost 600 whp with my 60-1 turbo on 25 psi of boost and I am fully spooled by 4700 rpm.

no, i got the kit with a sc61 which is around the same as a gt35 non ball bearing.

here is a graph from my tuner with a gt35r:

Here is my graph with sc61(non ball bearing):

There is a 2 psi difference but you get the idea
This is not a good comparison of ball bearing and journal bearing turbo's unless both turbo's have the exact same A/R housing's, compressor and turbine wheels. Every one of these factors play a huge role in spool up.

Now, take a GT35 and a GT35R that have the exact same turbine's, compressor's and A/R's and run the test and you will find the variables to be much closer. I'm willing to bet only maybe a 100 rpm spool difference.

Also, if you dont granny shift and know how to drive, you won't lose very much spool at all with a journal bearing turbo so that is non sense.

I agree... Spool up time will not be dramatically decreased with a non BB gt35. I think the only difference you will notice is between shifts, and like spoolin said, if you shift fast that will not become an issue.
