HKS ssqv on Comptech SC

If you have, please post your opinions and review of the setup. I am going to go that rout and weld a nice flange up in place of the godzilla spot.
Thanks guys.

Yes I had it and it worked great. I modified the stock BOV flange and put the bov there, sorry i don't have pics. Sound wise it will make a fluttering noise at partial throttle too.

Here's a vid of the car with the SC and HKS BOV with stock exhaust. Hope it helps. I got killed by the vette at the end.

Thanks for the post. I was wondering if it would flutter. Trying to stay away from that. The ssqv is know for low boost level flutter. Hmmmmm. Might go with the synchronic or godzilla then.

I have it with my UR FMIC, sounds fine, not too much flutter.

FYI diaphragm based BOV's are not meant to be used with constant airflow superchargers.
They react with an impulse.

You will not have good results with the HKS on an S/C, even with its max cool factor.

Ivan, I have a TurboSmart XS that came with my kit. Is that okay to use? I think its an Australian one where you can adjust the sprint pressure.

If not which one should I switch to?

Boofster Nov 24, 2011 12:19 PM

You can try it if the idle noise doesn't drive you crazy.
I am not sure what type the TSXS is.
They will all work, don't get me wrong, they'll just bounce back and forth continuously because S/C boost never goes away.

I use Syncronic and heard good things about Godzilla.

Synapse synchronic bov all day. Death to the diaphram!

Moar about the synchronic please gents. The only vid or feedback i have come across is the 9 zillon year old synapse vid on youtube.
Thanks for the responses. I appreciate your time in offering your feedback.

I currently run a synapse on mine.the response is insane. I'm not a bov geek so my knowledge is limited. But synapse bov are piston driven, meaning it doesn't use a diaphram. Synapse website is much more detailed then I am. I did post a video on YouTube of mine. Its only 10 seconds but you can see with 15-20% throttle the amount of air being pushed through the bov, and just the response time of it. Someone with bov knowledge pipe in plz
Here's a decent website for literature.
