How to make 304 RWHP with $3,125.00
This kit I pieced together is a little more exciting than the greddy kit because you get a bov with it and all that jazz... Here is the set up... Most of the parts are new but some are used. You can make much more power with this kit, but I'm only running 8lbs to be safe....
I found a...
Manifold and complete 3" exhaust and downpipe for $400.00
Garrett t3 60-1 new for $715.00
New tial wastegate for $200.00 (yes it's real)
used xs manual boost controller $15.00
Greddy BOV $50.00
RC 600cc injectors used $150.00 for all four
Resistor box with OBD 1 clips
Walbro 255lph new $100.00
AEM fuel pressure regulator $225.00 new
Heat shielding $100.00
Emanage new $300.00
Emanage support tool $100.00
Oil pan with weld bung used $150.00 (buy it new mine is leaking on weld)
Oil lines $100.00
Oil filter relocation $70.00
Intercooler and piping new $200.00
Get tuned $240.00
Most stuff I found cheap on this site and on ebay... Look around, you can find the deals. Like I said before, this kit is capable of a lot more horses, but I'm keeping it safe at 8lbs. You might add more money onto the total for a clutch. Mine is stock and I'm telling you, you will need to upgrade it. I'm ordering one next paycheck. If your not built, keep it at 8-10lbs. The turbo is capable of 550Hp. Well I hope this thread inspires someone. I was on a low budget, so I just bought a part or two every paycheck. It was worth the wait. Prices don't include labor, I did all the work myself. S2ki helped me soooo much with the process. Thank you so much eveyone for your help. When I started, I didn't even know what a wastegate was or how to hook up a BOV. I knew nothing about turbo's except that they made more power. With everyone's help, I know what everything is and the fundamentals of everything (how they work what they do...) So once again thank you everyone.
Just some more intresting info.
Most annoying part of the kit... The manifold. The heat shield bolt was stripped and it took me forever to get the stock one out. It kept getting stuck on the studs and valve cover a/c lines...
Longest part of the install... Tough, i'd say the longest part was the fuel pump. Altough the resistor box wiring is close behind in second.
Easiest part of the install... Probably the boost gauge. There were a lot of easy things though.
Hardest part of the install... Probably the whole exhaust system. A bunch of rusty bolts and stubborn exhaust hangers. On this particular exhaust I had to relocate the 02 sensors.
Most fun part... Getting tuned and hitting the gas and hearing the sweet sound of the BOV!!

I would love to post pics, but I don't know how to. Can anyone explain how to post pics in Lamens terms??? I mean a real easy explanation, I'm not good with computers.
Also, yes the intercooler and piping is off ebay, however it is great for only 8lbs. If I run more boost I will upgrade to better piping with the lips. But with only 7 or 8lbs, you don't really have to worry as much about charge pipes blowing off. They work great.

Also, check your IAT's, i'd be interested to see what they are with your intercooler!
Spend an extra 20 on a membership to the site! Then you can upload your pics to your gallery and host the pics on here, or any other site you want to show off your new power
Also, what year is your motor? early 02 or 01 or 00? when you have that oil pan off, don't forget the revised banjo bolts!

I will figure out how to do the pictures later...
For now if you want to see pics, use the link above. This is my cardomain page.
