I change mine between 2500-3500 miles.. Shell Rotella T6 5w40. Bosch filters. My car usually takes about 5.5 qts.
I'd recommend tapping the front of the oil pan, Its like 2 hours of actual work and a few hours of cleaning the mating surfaces.

An oil analysis will actually tell you how your oil is doing and is a great way to get a snap shot of your motor's health. It also means you can stop wasting your money and natural resources on things that don't need to be replaced.

Found my old post:

Oil analysis from my '05 with an SOS 6 psi kit with the oil-fed 1220 blower on Amsoil 10W-40:

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/7036956/s2koa.pdf

Comments from analysis:

JOHNNY: Thanks for the detailed note. This engine looks terrific, and we see no reason not to run the oil
longer (even factoring in the supercharger being oil-fed). You might not be able to go as long as average
(universal averages show typical wear for this type engine after 5,200 miles on the oil), but you should be
able to go at least 3,500 miles. Iron will increase, but the other metals should stay low. No indication of the
gasket work in this sample. Fuel is okay at 1.0%; it might disappear entirely next time. No coolant/water
found. Looking good. The TBN read strong at 9.0.

I skipped doing an analysis with my last oil change on February 08, but I'll do one again the next oil change.

The kit is originally for an ap1.. I have an 05. Do I have to get the ap1 serpentine belt to compensate for the smaller pulley?

With the AP1 pulley you will see 1 psi less than normal unless you are revving higher than 8k. Yo would need to change the pulley and belt to get the normal psi.
