Default How to Oil Change

I tried to do an oil change after getting my supercharger about 3-4k miles. However when i went under, it was a little bit different. Instead of the oil drain plug, there was a hose there in silver/red/blue. My 17mm socket can not loosen it due to the hose. So do i have to get a wrench and loosen the nut to get the hose off?

if anyone can show me a FAQ or HOW TO on doing an oil change after getting a sc, that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You have to use two wrenches. One to hold the locking nut and one to loosen the line from the oil pan.

DO NOT LOOSEN the lock nut. You have to be careful to not strip the nuts and that you do not loosen the oil line from the blower connection.

It's fairly simple just do it right....

Hmm really curious also! I would've thought changing oil on the comptech supercharger should be like stock car? snice there no oil tap through the pan?

This is the complete opposite. Because there is no oil tap, changing the oil requires a little more precaution. The oil return line on the Comptech kit requires that you remove the stock OEM oil drain bolt and that you use the Oil return line that comes with the kit. This line because of it's requirement to be flexible and adjustable in angle has 2 nuts on it. One that locks the angle of the line in place and one that actually drains the oil from the pan.

In a Supercharger kit such as the Vortech that DOES require an oil tap.... you would drain the oil same as if it were OEM.

IIRC, that Comptech fitting (the blue ano one) is standard not metric so don't strip it by trying to get a metric box wrench to fit on there.

Can't recall the size. 7/8" sounds like it might be right tho.

The braided steel hose coming out of the snail that goes down to the oil pan is an oil return line.

Yes, look under there... where your oil drain bolt used to be there is a cool looking anodized L-shaped fitting. That's the oil return.
