I Finally Pulled the Trigger
After much thought and turmoil, I have decided to go with a SC setup. I have been debating between the two (mostly the cost), and I like the Comptech the best. I will probably go with just the SC without the AC. $1k is alot of money for what Comptech says is 10-15hp and lower intake temps. There are just so many other things I could get with that money. I would like to have gauges with the kit as well, and they are not cheap. I realize I could spend $1k on NA mods and not get 10-15hp, but an upgrade in the future is always possible. I am going to have hardtopguy install the kit when he installs the hardtop that I bought from him as well. He is actually coming to my house to do the install, and I am out of state! Now that is customer service. That was no small part of my decision to buy it new from him, and to go with Comptech. Anyway, long post............I am just excited to get the kit on my car. From what I have read, it will change the whole driving experience. I hope you guys have not been lying to me

The AC isn't necessarily for the hp gains, but for peace of mind that the slightly lower intake temps give you. Xviper recently posted similar thoughts about this: Nobody knows if those lower intake temps really translate into a significantly lower risk of detonation, but in theory at least, it makes sense.
My tightly controlled, scientific, testing shows that after about an hour of spirited driving on a warm day, the compressor is hot enough to burn your hand if you leave it there more than a second but the AC is only about as warm as a Starbucks cup with the little corrugated insulator paper thingie.
Is the intake air temp similarly lowered? Dunno.
