(Turbo) Tune complete. Please review my Dyno Graph
2001 AP1 S2000 RHD E63 Fuel, ID1300, WALBRO 350 GTX3076R SINGLE SCROLL SHEEPEY
Hey guys,
My Tuner is a little worried that my Motor is not responding to well to Boost @ 17psi on E63.
Details:
2001 F20C, 102,000 kilometres (63,000 miles)
Sheepey single scroll, GTX3076R Series 2,ID1300, Walbro 450
I would have thought the boost would continue to build more steep at 5,000rpm and instead it dies off.
Cheers,
Mark

Need more info. Your toque looks on par with what a bit over 500hp would be.
What are you talking about with boost being more steep. Do you have the data logs? Need to look at your baseboost duty cycle
Those spikes on the lower end of the graph look odd asf.

The peak number for torque look like where it should be for 17psi on that turbo. Im not sure what kw equates to in whp. But if you're producing 363wtq, you should be in the ballpark range of 425-450whp...which for 17psi, again sounds about right. Graph curves look about right too, minus the little spikes on the low end. Good numbers on e63, you could even push for more, id say max out your injectors as long as your tuner is comfortable.
nguyen on the forum just retuned his car on the same turbo and made 528whp at 19psi

Dyno curve looks normal to me. Do you have a plot with the boost curve?
Could you maybe try a pull without the air filter to see if it could have been a restriction (looks somewhat small from pics) ?

Hey guys thanks for your comments, I am not doing any of the work myself, the tuner shop is.
Those waves in the Dyno plot...... what is with that? I have never seen this before and it seems like something is up.
They said my stock motor is not responding to well to boost and my compression is a little low, they didn't give me any figures yet but when I do I will post them up.
The car had only been driven 3 times in 6 years, and now the engine is subject being boosted which makes me a little concerned that this is the reason the compression is low.
MorningWoodStewie - Later this week they will send me more files.
Charper - I agree those waves in the graph definitely look SO strange. I honestly have never seen this before.
Umair- Yes they checked for boost leaks but everything is perfect
5thgen - They mentioned my filter was to small and potentially restrictive but they tested this and it was OK. I am thinking I should get a turbo guard or a different more free-flowing style that fits in that space. Also a radiator plate that diverts air over and into that area where the filter is.
My Turbo has a hot side of 1.01ar which is not the standard 0.8x size so that explains the lag then sudden jump.
The tuner says he will be road testing this week, does this mean he will be modifying the tune?
The tuner said that most e85 found at the pump is inconsistent, perhaps this is why he tuned it on E63.
I will call them on Monday.

I honestly have never been dissapointed with an outcome of myself doing the research, troubleshooting and testing. It may have costed me time and aggravation but I just dont trust “tuner shops” .... its my own, just as your choice though. I respect that, just saying.
maybe a second opinion?
F20’s/F22s respond very well to boost even a healthy high mileage one. I would give the benefit of doubt to the Honda engine any day (just my .02)
when she gives (god rest her soul) she will let you know!
1.xx AR is a big guy, assuming its a single scroll of course she should be lighting up on the top end. Theirs still a lot to be considered with a little amount of info. GL!
deffly ask for or check your compression #’s

Some red flags are the shop telling you the stock motor doesnt respond well to boost and second, they said your compression is low.
Stock s2k motors respond to boost very well and can hit up to 600whp reliably on a good tune.
And if theyre speaking of cylinder compression, do a compression test and leakdown test to verify. But if theyre saying your compression ratio is low they are flat out wrong, unless you replaced your head gasket or something.
At 17psi, you should be in the ballpark range of 400-450whp with your setup.
