So, I got the stock transmission back in, but instead of the multifriction clutch I was planning to run, I scored a Competition stage 4 clutch from my other s2000. It's soooooo much quieter now that the picky-ass Z trans is out! Still have the Z differential and custom drive shaft in it. Longer gears feel nice even in NA trim. According to my GPS speedo app, my VSS readings are 8 mph lower than they should be. Next thing on the agenda is to finish up my custom pnp harness for the AEM EMS-4. I wired it to run in conjunction with the stock ecu. I opted for this because I only want the EMS-4 to run the most vital functions (ie: fuel, ignition, VTEC, idle, ethanol sensor, boost, etc.) The stock ecu will control the radiator fan, AC, coolant gauge, speedometer, and fuel surge valve, fuel pump relay, etc. Once I'm sure the EMS-4 is wired correctly and running right, I'll schedule a tuning appointment, so hopefully before the end of the month?

I know this is an old thread but did you ever return to the 350z transmission after going back to the factory transmission? I am curious if you found a remedy for the horrific noise or if you just said screw it.
