For reference, I'm currently at 515whp on 255/40/17 on 120utqg semi slicks and battle traction issues constantly. I'm on boost by gear 9psi in 1st, 13psi in 2nd and ~20psi in 3rd-6th. If the conditions are just right, I'll hook 3rd gear with full boost but most of the time I still have to feather it. By the way, these are all reference to running the car on the street. The track is a completely different animal as the tracks are normally prepped and sticky as hell. Last time I ran at the track I hooked 1st-3rd very hard, no traction loss.

I agree with Junky, if you want more traction under the circumstances you've given, go with good sticky tires and as wide as you can go. The taller tire will probably help but keeping as little camber as possible and laying as much rubber to the floor is whats going to give you more traction. But loss of traction might be a good thing at this point, that's at least the way I see it, I'm probably saving my stock diff and trans from breaking by sacrificing some grip lol.

Quit playing games and just put a real tire on it. Mine is driveable without TC at 850/625 in third and fourth

^ What wheels and tyres are those? Do they fit under stock(ish) fenders?

If that all seems to work your clutch will be the next to spin if you aren't running a twin disk. More boost more problems.
How much more noise does the puddymod/8.8/R200 diff make over oem drivetraing? Drag radials are not for turning correct? I need street tires to keep darting around corners on the street. This will be a sleeper street car. Even if i have to wait until 8krpms and 4th gear to finally release all boost for tractions sake that's what id rather do than live with huge drag radials and noisy diff... I just dont want to end up making this a race car because then i know i'll end up selling it. I got the idea of higher rpms for traction from those crazy revving k-series front wheel drive civics lol. They are FWD for goodness sake and the way they deal with their limited traction is they put the power down by having long gears and revving it out. That's a solution i'm considering...

I’m turbo’d with 617/442 dyniojet. My s2k sees mostly canyon/mountain roads. I find that boost by throttle works for me the best after playing around with boost control. This is on stock AP2v1 wheels and RE71-R tires.

Soulicious you are an inspiration! I'm running AEM Infinity so i can do boost by gear/traction on my 2004 AP2. I don't plan on doing hard launches from a stop, but more like highway pulls/rolling anti-lag launches

OP you do not want or need to run DR's. You will compromise the handing of your S2000. Not worth it when you can get very good traction for strait line with an appropriate size R comp for rim width, like a Nitto NT01 or Toyo RA1 or R888R while retaining good handling/corning control.

Found your post about boost by speed. Brilliant! So simple so elegant lol. If it existed i would do the following: 255/45/17 Michellin pilot sport 4S with 1"wider ap2 V1 wheels. this would be one Killer set up with boost by gear/speed!

As my screen name implies i want to have a Formula 1 S2000 lol. It's gotta pick up and go and dart through turns like a F1 car or bust! High redline, high HP, Quick Acceleration and turns. S2K can do it

I figured thats why i never looked into DR's. I also want quiet and compliant ride. This is why i've never ventured away from michelin pilot super sports and can't wait to try the new michelin sport 4S. It's what all the new high performance oem cars are running like the mustang gt350, BMW M2.. and that says alot. Every auto-show i go to i see the manufacturers top of the line cars have michelin sport 4S. They are pricy but worth it to me because i cant stand tire noise..
