Default Metal Shavings and Oil inside Intercooler Piping

Hello,

2 weeks ago my exhaust started releasing blue smoke. I just bought a catch can I was about to install it but I decided to take the intercooler piping off and check.

I found small metal (aluminum) shavings and oil in the piping and in the intercooler. So does this mean I have to rebuild the turbo? I have a greddy kit (T518z) that I bought used from craigslist. Apparently it only had 6k miles on it.

Does anyone have something similar happen to their turbo set-up?

Most likely, yes. Take the Inlet tube and Downpipe off and check the shaft play and for visible damage.

OK cool. I'm planning to that this afternoon...

Hopefully, none of those shavings went inside the engine.. That's what I'm really worried about...

I'm probably going to clean the intake manifold really well too just to be sure..

I'd be checking the vtec solenoid gauge too.
