Default Missing Link...

Will adding this device called the missing link eliminate the need for CT ESM hardwired into ECU?

Or does it just act as a safe guard for the MAP sensor?

http://nipponpower.com/product.phtml?p=235

Thanks.

the missing link goes right where your map sensor is. you pull the sensor off, install the link, and then put the sensor on top of the missing link. its very simple, and yes it does replace the ESM.

i have one for sale if you need one.

The 1st Comptech kits came with one, or a copy of one. It worked so badly that most were replaced with the ESM.

Vortech has always used an electronic MAP voltage clamp, built by Splitsecond.

The ESM is a electronic one way door, no voltage over the set amount is allowed to the PCM, as the PCM doesn't understand a positive manifold pressure.

i have the original comptech kit on my car and it came with some weird check valve thing, i was searching for the ESM and was like, what the fruk? me with the VAFC didn't want to mess around with an ESM either and then the MISSING LINK by synapse popped up. i also got it from NIPPONPOWER in miami. they shipped quickly and it works FLAWLESSLY. i just mounts between the throttle body and map sensor just to hide boost. boost is ready separately by the FPR so all is good.

i give nipponpower and the missing link five-stars...

I am running an AP2 pulley on an MY01. I have had issues with the MAP sensor on several occasions, which has lead to me to replace the sensor twice.

I have always had the ESM hardwired in (soldered), but for some reason, when boosting, randomly, my car would go into limp mode. The only way to get it out of limp mode would be to tap on the MAP sensor. I have always wound up replacing it.

I thought I could spend $60 and save my next $70 MAP sensor.

here's a pic of the missing link installed:

just install it between the throttle body and map sensor and it hides boost, real easy and simple...
