Is my boost gauge going bad?
Lately I've noticed that when I first start my car in the morning my boost gauge reads 20" of vacuum. When I've been driving for awhile and pull to a stop light my gauge is bouncing from 14" to 16". Car is running fine and I can't see (rpm) or feel any difference in the car. I'm using AEM's digital boost gauge. Any ideas?

Hmm. Kinda weird. Ussually vacuum increase as car warms up to operating temp and revs drop to idle. Do u see more then 20 vacuum on decel in gear? What rpm do u idle at?

After my initial start up I don't see over 20" I believe my idle is around 900. Don't quote me on that. I need to pay more attention to it tomorrow.

This morning my car was running 18" of vac and when I would down shift it would climb to 20"

idle is 900rpm

Old thread but does anyone else see a fluctuation in vacuum with hotter temps?

Aem's gauge is gay. It only reads in 2's in vac. So it bounces back and forth indicating around a 17.

I see as low as 14 when car has been running for an hour. Sometimes with a rough idle and sometimes without
