Bad thing is though, it's still a stock trans that will have limitations and it's a tight fit in the tunnel that requires a lot of work from what I have heard. The T56 swap with GForce billet gears is the way to go if you want bulletproof.

I will be getting the case cyro treated. This will help when it comes to flexing.

I know his heat treatment worked good af back in the day on B series stuff I did...700whp+ all day on slicks...you just have to not hammer the syncros. Honestly, what works for one person wont work for another...some people beat their stuff up, other aren't hard on parts...I would do a dye penetrant of magnaflux to check gear for cracks...and prob send new 2nd and 4th. Get a nice c-c twin that releases at high rpm and preload the launch and shift soft. Going different tranny is 10k+...

Waste of money unless you do this initially. Not sure if RacerSteve has the capability of doing this, but having the gears magnafluxed would be the best thing you can do before getting them treated.

Also although I ran his gears way way way back in the day on my b-series before getting the liberty dog box, I cannot remember if he cryo treats or heat treats.

He finished heat treating the gears this weekend. He just has to pack them up and i should have them back sometime next week. I will have pictures soon. The only problem he saw was very minor damage on the 4th gear shaft but he said that wont be a problem. Overall the gears looked very good.
