My Turbo/Motec Build
#141
Well I didn't get my 185, but I am absolutely on cloud 9 after it's first outing. I ended up gaining a ton through the weekend by figuring out when and how I could no lift shift the car. It becomes super critical further into the run because if boost doesn't stay up, a ton of time is wasted not accelerating. Anyways, I managed to run 181.3mph at 6,000+ feet elevation! Car is 100% street worthy with a full stereo, sub, an AC all still in the car. I believe this is the WR for S2000's in the half, but could be wrong. I got an in car of both my 177 pass from earlier, and my 181 racing my friend's 1,200whp Supra. FWIW, my car was down on power big time. I ran a 4.6-4.8 60-130 on the street the other day with a normal speed shift and the best I had here was a 5.46 with two no lift shifts.

What im liking more and more about your runs, is seeing the disparity/advantage we have. 1200hp is no joke, and your right there with it.

Some images from this past weekend, I am pretty stoked with how the car looks in full aero trim (minus the bumper that flew off lol)

A nice looking car. You seemed happy.
There is another poster also focused on the 1/2 mile. His current signature say 800+hp on E85@34psi, InlinePro engine, 6466 turbo, AEM Infinity 6. 4Piston showed their K-series turbo build in the Wiesco booth at the PRI show last year: 4 Piston Racing's 1,000hp-Plus Honda K Series Build. They claim it is a street engine that turns 600hp on pump gas, 1000hp on E85, and 1200hp on C85.,

Maybe I am missing the connection here, but what is purpose of talking about the K-series engine here?

The K-series and F-series have only minor differences. The intake VTC is irrelevant in this application. Ditto the minor difference in deck height. To get 99mm in an S2k would need a different crank/rods/pistons. Aren't most engine in the 1000hp range sleeved anyway? If anything, a ported S2k head can is better than the K-series head. Ballard sells a swap kit for $3k as a measure of complexity.
Have you considered pre-turbo water/meth injection to get more air mass flow?
On the Supra forum in a very recent discussion it was pretty much determined that the K/F-series Hondas were the best performance motors, at least on an hp/displacement ratio basis. The big edge of the 2JZ-GTE was determined to be cost. Out of the box it is either an 8.5 or 9.5 (the JDM VVTi) engine with internals that can take over 30psi without addons, never pulling the head. Your M150 tuned S2k is way slicker and sicker. They way you have yours set in white with the accent wheels, it even seems to look better (as a good), and the Supra is one of the best looking sports cars. At least when you have the rear bumper attached.

But what does this have to do with anything being talked about in here? I have no idea why this is being brought up.

No, this isn't some all out race car setup where I am looking to get every little it out of it. If I were I would much rather just put the car on methanol entirely.

Yeah, my goal is 200mph 1/2 mile but we shall see how that goes when I finally get this car done. lol Currently with my RPM t56 and 4.10 gears in my super 8.8 diff, the top of 4th (1:1) at 10,500 rpm will get me to around 188 mph. Going into 5th, I'm not too sure how that will far trying to get to 200 mph.
Hatrickstu, are you still running the stock steering rack or did you change it to make it slower steering? Just curious if the stock steering is too twitchy at speed or not.
