Are you using it for that also?

The unmuffled exhaust popping out the hood is a very drag racing thing to do. They often have the compressor inlet popping out the front of the car. Are you going to do anything to get ambient temp air into the compressor?
Driving the gate closed with CO2 doesn't fix the turbo being out of it's efficiency range, which it already is. When exhaust back pressure exceeds inlet pressure it doesn't matter how much wastegate spring you give it lol. Having a small spring and still maintaining the ability to make big boost is beneficial for low speed stuff for sure.

I have considered putting a naca duct in the hood to feed the turbo inlet, just haven't done it yet.

Well I got the car all ready for TX2K this past week(end) and decided to try my chances in the roll racing portion. If you aren't familiar with 2K it's basically a gathering of the baddest street cars for both roll and drag racing. With a field of Supras, Vipers, GTR's, Porsches, Lambos, FI Vettes, etc. I really didn't know what to expect. I actually tried my chances at this a couple years ago when the car was around 620whp and missed qualifying with a best of 147mph. Well the car is quite a bit quicker now and I ended up qualifying in the Sport class with a 172.8mph run! There was definitely more in it as this was on roughly 35psi of 40-42psi available in the mid range. I also left the car in full street trim (subwoofer, heavy 18's etc) just because I felt like it. I didn't want the whole "oh it's another gutted Honda race car" bullshit. I ended up running a TT 5th gen Viper first round of eliminations and managed to get out on him pretty good. Unfortunately with the car turned up we crept up and slightly passed my coolant pressure threshold so the car shut down middle of fourth gear. It sucked because there was no chance the guy was catching me, but after some diagnosing the car is fine, and the safety has been raised. Either way, the car got a TON of attention this weekend and a few different big media outlets did features on it, so you should be seeing quite a bit here soon.

In car action with the sequential!

That looks tantalizingly close to 200mph in the half.

Honestly I feel much more pride in saying my street car goes 8.7 in the 1/4 than 200 in the half.

Last year the 200 mph in the 1/2 seemed to be the injector. Either is impressive. But is running E90 with an unmuffled exhaust popping through the hood really a street car?

If the exhaust was pointed at the ground would that make it more of a street car? I drive it to work 2-3 times a week, take my girlfriend into Dallas with it regularly, drive it most every weekend...

I just live the wrong state. Here there is no E85 and the limited range with E90 from a drum would prevent even getting to and from a race track. They would never let the car have an unmuffled exhaust no matter which direction it was pointed.

A very impressive street car!
