New KW kitted 2006 dies in the heat
My 2006 S2000 with the new KW C38-81 kit and high flow fuel pump dies on the road in high heat below 3/4 fuel tank level, above 85F ambient, and an hour or so of continuous driving at highway speeds. If I keep the fuel tank above 3/4 this does not happen.
I have specific ideas on this problem and the fix for it. I want to hear your ideas. Thanks, Chuck

Might be a tune issue. My comptech supercharged setup would sometimes die when i come to a redlight, Had the car retuned by a different tunner, and now no more issue.

Sounds like the fuel pump is getting hot and failing. Once the level of gas lowers it gets hot, sounds like a bad pump. I had that exact thing happen in a car I owned once, but it had to get below 1/2 tank...the replacement was like $650 (stealership) and I just kept it topped off until I could get it fixed.

I would check to make sure the fuel pump is at the lowest level in the tank, filter is on correctly and make sure fuel level sender float is not hitting the filter and not going down all the way.

Check install of the pump. If it's installed correctly try swapping with a none working unit. I don't know how reliable Grams pumps are (assuming you're using the grams fueling that comes with the kit).

Pump install is fine, mesh sock strainer is fine, tank level sensor is fine. Tune is good at 14.7 air fuel ratio at all normal loads.
The car drives around town short distances with no problems at low tank levels. Its after an hour or two of road speeds and high ambient air temperatures that the car dies. I can restart it after waiting 2-5 minutes.

Its a Grams fuel pump (not sure where Grams got it) with Hondata flash pro engine management.
Science of Speed guys told me I should install a return fuel system to reduce recirculation in the fuel tank. Sounds like a potential solution. However, return fuel kit is $700.
