hi all,

I'm new to the forums but i'm not exactly new to turbocharging or hondas...i own a turbo civic that i've maintained for the past three years or so and I'm pretty well aquainted with the downside of ownership (let's just say it involved an impound lot, a stolen transmission, some big bills, and the fact that NJ is hell on earth). I'm dead set on an AP1 for my next vehicle (once i'm out of college), I was briefly tempted by the older RX7's but was lured back by the fact that an RX7 *will* breakdown at some point whereas hondas just keep running until universe stops expanding lol. Anyway, I've been heavily browsing the forums lately. One thing that caught my attention, and is the general point of this post, is the "horror" stories stickied to this forum. Seems like its been 2 years since anyone has said anything about these peoples trials. I was just wondering how all those people have been doing with their cars since posting their experiences. Also, do you feel that it is "safer" to TC today than it was back when people were first pioneering it on the s2k a few years back? What major developments or breakthroughs have occurred since then?

Also, i remember seeing something on here about a centrifugal supercharger...was that this forum or are my internet skills just lacking?

I know its not an S2k but i think ill throw in a link to my car just so ppl know where i'm coming from...

vortech/comptech's chargers are both centrifugal for the s2000.

The horror stories come from people who did not tune with full stand alone, tried to keep it cheap, tuned over the phone, forgot to refill oil ect.
Build it right, tune it right, maintain it and I don't see a reason why it should turn into a horror.

ok it wasnt centrifugal ... it was some crazy design akin to a jet engine that linked to an RX8 forum...i cant find the thread now but nevermind that

so basically if its installed properly and tuned properly there should be no problems...duh... I'm sorry if i was dense I was just curious about if any major changes had occured in the quality of kits available for the s2k

I know a lot of people have recently gone with the lovefab kit or full-race...how do they compare to some of the first kits that were available?

rephrase:

the thread linked to an rx8 forum and the guy who was developing it compared the design to a basic jet engine.

AXIAL FLOW SUPERCHARGER ha i remembered it. :D

well i dont know but if youve read anything about centrifugal superchargers here then im sure they were refering to either Vortech or Comptech.
