Ok so this is kinda hard to describe, but ever since i went FI with turbo i've had the odd noise that happens every so often and defintitly not on cue.

Sometimes when i put the keys into the ignition to start the car i get this loud almost like a built up pressure noise that eventually works it's way out of whatever is preventing it from escaping like it normally did when stock. The thing is, it will occur almost right after the fuel pump primes but it only happens at random times.

I guess the easiest way to describe it is, Pretend like your playing a trumpet with your hand. Put your hand in a fist but keep it real tight. Begin pushing air out of your mouth, and when your cheeks start to blow up release the tension in your hand and you'll get this kinds *phooosh" sound( i don't know).

Anyone have any problems like this? I took off the vacuum box i beleive under the driver side headlight and that's the only thing i removed. would that be related?

OH ALSO, it smells kinda funny...almost like burnt rubber for a second.

Its your injectors blowing gas into the IM/Head. Happens to me about every 5 starts.

 

i am willing to bet you are running AEM EMS. I also have this problem, from what i've been told it is fuel igniting.

 

Yeah i'm running AEM. So your saying it's the EMS that's doing it?

 

I get this too ever so often and I'm on the emanage. I freaked out the first time I heard it. It was really quick almost like a pop.
