I was reading on this before and I was going to tilt the intercooler but a simple recirc button fixed my hot engine temp when AC is running. With AC Off my engine temps never gets high even pulling hard, stock in traffic and autocrossing on hot day.

Is your AC on recirc while running with AC? I bled my system also as the first correction I did but my temp still went high. With the AC on recirc engine temp never went high anymore and stays the same parameter you mentioned.

OP, sorry for the thread jack.

I only use recirc. Get the car real high and bleed the hell out of it. The s2k is a pita to bleed. Make sure heat is on full blast when u do it also. Burp it and bleed it and let it cycle a few times. Your solution IMHO is a band aid.

Ok. I will rebleed the system again and test run it with AC not on recirc. Thanks.

i have encountered and "fixed" 3 s2000's who were having over heating issues form the intercooler blocking the airflow.

i removed the IC, joined the 2 pipes, saw normal temps all day. put the IC back on, temps shot up while driving and cruising and dropped when at a stop.

here is the issue with it: if the person has the intercooler where it is right up at the very front of the bumper and the grill had to be removed or trimmed back all the way for the intercooler to fit, it disrupts the velocity of the flow so much, the air just barely fumbles back to the rad.

if the person has the intercooler mounted closer back toward the rad, the air still has just enough velocity and spaces around the IC to hit the rad and cool it down.

all the intercoolers i encountered were 3" thick and filled the entire bumper opening, fwiw.

did u do the install urself? if not did the mechanic happen to take the AC fan out due to fitment issues , my AC fan didnt fit with my full race kit and i never got around to putting a slim fan in and if i used the AC the engine temp would go up.

Running recirculate doesn't have a thing to do with the engine temp. All it does is close a little plastic door under the dash. Doesn't have a damn thing to do with the underhood, engine, or coolant temps. Your fans aren't doing the job. I've sat in traffic for an hour with the AC on blast in hundred degree South Carolina heat and the guage never moved. Thats with stock radiator and fans. Rebleed the system and get your fans working properly, problem solved.
