Opinions on GTX3584RS on build 2.0l engine
Hello all,
I will need your opinions and your thoughts by experienced peole with these new series turbines as i am really thinking to make a turbine change . I currently have since 2010 a turbo S2k with built 2.0l engine with pfab ELT turbo kit and GT3582 0.82 A/R turbine. Stock cams, 9:1 compression and pushing around 600hp on pump gas. So i came across this GTX3584RS 0.82A/R turbine and i am serious thinking to buy it. Will it actually makes a change than my old GT3582 performance wise? Spooling a bit better and having more hp on same psi than my old GT3582? Will it make a difference to spend this budget on an engine with stock cams as i heard that these turbos are restricted with stock cams and won't make a big difference
Please for your opinions and experience

What are your goals in changing the turbo? Are you looking to make more power or a broader power band?
The new GTX series are pretty good. Maybe downsizing a little will yield more interesting results in terms of powerband. A car that makes 50whp 1000rpm sooner will be quicker and more fun in the streets. Is this a DD or a weekend car? Maybe getting a GTX3076R GEN II with a bigger A/R will make the same power but much sooner... Would be worth to look into depending on your end goals. Worth a shot to ask your Tuner as well!

The GTX3584Rs is around a 900whp turbo. Do you want that much power? If you want the same power as your GT3582 but better spool, look at the GTX3576R. The Gen2 GTX3576R can probably top out at 650whp.

Thank you both on your replies.
My goal was to have a bit better spool earlier than my GT35 and make more power on the same boost i have now (1.7 bar - 24.5 psi), basicaly the second. I am just asking if this turbine GTX3584RS will give me that compare to my gt35. I know that GTX3576R nowdays will probably be a better option but now i found this one for a great deal

I think this turbo is big/er in the gtr world. I dont think 4 cylinders and 9:1 compression would really make her shine.
If your drag racing it and using n2O to supplement she sure would wake up alot.

Christos, I'd be tempted to give the skunk 2 adjustable cams a try they apparently worked well for mattie improved spool and power!
They'll work out around the same price as the turbo
